Seychelles is preparing to welcome its first tourists after COVID-19
After announcing that it will open its borders to tourists from August 1, the Seychelles Tourist Board is introducing a number of measures not only to stimulate travel to the country, but also to ensure the complete safety of tourists.
The finance minister announced that three international airlines will resume flights to Seychelles after the country re-opens for commercial traffic beginning of August. All tourists who want to visit the Seychelles will be able to do it thanks to Ethiopian Airlines and Etihad Airways, who will be doing two flights per week – on Mondays and Fridays, as well as the Swiss airline Edelweiss, which will offer flights to the country from early September.
Sherin Francis, the chief executive of the Tourism board, pushed resorts to get more creative and innovative to attract tourists. According to her, emphasis should be placed on the value of the offered services, which, in addition to safety, guarantee high quality to visitors. As an example, Francis pointed services such as room service and more outdoor dinners and suggested hotels start allowing last-minute changes and cancellations without penalties. According to her, the key for attracting more tourists will be the content generated by them on the Internet, which will increase the trust in the destination.
